Added: we are not judging this btw the way. What we are saying is that we promote positive masculinity, and also positive behaviour in general.

Our belief backed by research is that “toxic Masculinity” is very dangerous label

It exists unfortunately but that why we have created Don’t be a CID

Controlling, Ignorant and Disrespectful.

At some stage we ALL may be ignorant or disrespectful and that’s honestly easy to challenge through good restorative practice.

The most dangerous behaviour is “control” as in trying to “control others for destruction purposes” …. Only then would we accept the term “toxic Masculinity”

We have also discovered that there a direct correlation between Bullying Behaviour and Violence Against Women and Girls (Imbalance of Power)

We will be making loads of information and content and we will also be challenging our Political Reps on this as there is too much “Grey” where people are restricted on what they can’t do and it’s very easy to “label” people.

We believe in a positive approach where young people are taught values and older kids (Proper Peer Mentoring, not 6 weeks learning and 1 off session with year 8s) can play huge role in preventing any negative behaviour

Never underestimate the power of a year 13 with a bit of stats sitting having a chat with a load lads saying “come on lads , what’s happening, let’s chill and stay calm” … Proper role modeling with conversations and they bridge gap between teachers and pupils.
