Great to attend the Shared Island Youth Forum Outcome Statement in Dublin Castle.
We are always inspired by the voice of youth and particularly their passion for Wellbeing and Mental Health.
Great to bump into some friends from local politics and Ulster University and Ballyhackamore Credit Union
Context is key
The Department of Health Core Grant was cut from £3.2mill to £1.8mill
£250,000 pilot in 10 schools to stop phones (when a good stern set of rules would suffice)
192 secondary schools x £25k = £4.8mill
Now groups like ours for £25k could deliver programmes in EVERY school around the dangers of phones for bullying, distraction and poor use social media. Saving the public purse £4.7mill which could be put to use saving lives.
