Stress Awareness Month
We all lead busy lives. Sometimes adults can be stressed out by work, relationships, and money worries. Young people can be stressed out by exams, peer pressure and expectations.
At TAMHI we accept that everyone has good days and bad and there are some things we can do to look after our mental health and mitigate the impacts of negative stress.
Please find our two resources:
Stress: This is for coaches, older players aged 16+ and parents. Please download and share on your social media and club WhatsApp group.
Exams: Young People are going to be taking Exams in May time, give them some advice on how to look after their wellbeing during what can be a very stressful time.

On Thursday 23rd we delivered to Strangford College
We have worked with this school since before COVID in 2019. And when green light for engagement came back in 2022 we where straight back in.
Always a warm welcome, great engagement and the absolute joy of young mentors from the previous year leading on supporting the new members this year.
Starting at Trinity College our Four week programme some of the feedback from the first day .
TAMHI FEEDBACK
Week 1 started with Ulster University PhD research on Impact of Games Based Approach to Mental health on adolescent Youth" with Rosario Football Club Belfast 2007 Boys team and coach Barry Black.
Tonight we delivered Choice Ball which challenges myths and facts about Mental health. We adopted a quick fire 2 v2 and then 3 v 3 winner stays on with ball constantly being fed in to ensure it was quick and intense.
The guys knew all the right answers which was really rewarding. A short warm up game, a quick team huddle and a #mentalhealthawareness message dropped in.
Learning through Games on the field rather than in a classroom is what the young players want
A great day at Assumption Grammar, great engagement and learning our games. What a credit the young people are too the school.
Tonight we finished the Mayfield Village Hall Leadership programme with MY PAL group.
Using skills and knowledge aquired throughout the training the young leaders put on a games night for their younger peers.
They delivered:
A game they made up themselves about supporting each other using dollies, cones and goals.
Hungry Hippo
Target your problems
Links
And a huge game of Tug of War
The thing that made the session work was the young leaders joined in.
